北部州のカサマにも退院の人たちが増えてきました。この日は、新しく来た新隊員のFさんをいれて、隊員の人たちとザンビア農業省の職員が、キノコ研修です。このFさんを村に初めて連れて行った時の映像がこちらです。
There are some JOCVs (Japanese Overseas Cooperation Volunteers) in Kasama. They are young and highly motivated. This day, they learned how to grow mushrooms. You can watch a move in which I took one of them to a village. Click this.

早朝に起きて通信教育の「チャレンジ」をやってる、ふーちゃん。ふーちゃんのように海外で日本語の国語の勉強ができない子にとっては、通信教育はとても大切。ふーちゃん、あんたは偉い。あんたの父親は生まれてから、すべてのありとあらゆる通信教育を無駄にしてきた男だよ。(最近では博士課程。)
My daughter Futaba studies with a distance learning school on Japanese language and mathematics. It is challenging for Japanese children who live in foreign countries like her to master Japanese language and Japanese way of mathematics. Futaba is better than her father (me), who failed all distance learning since he was born.

風呂場で黒い物体が・・よくみたらサソリ!! といっても、小さい(5cm)、そして南部アフリカのサソリ(の多く)は毒性はありません。ただ、刺されるとめちゃくちゃ痛いので、躊躇なく踏み潰す! (サンダル越しね)　南無阿弥陀仏。すまんね。
I found a scorpion in my bathroom. Scorpions in Southern Africa do not have poison, but it hurts when you are bitten. So what you should do is just stomp on it to crush it! (Sorry Mr. Scorpion, but it's your fault to appear here.)

椅子の上で気が付いたら眠っていた息子。二人の子供(特に小さい方)を相手にしていると、パワーがありすぎて、本当につかれます。頭がいいんだろうけど、あの手この手で色々なものを壊していきます。「あ゛ー、づがれる゛ー」と思いますが、この子も慣れない環境でがんばって疲れてるんだろうな。。。とちょっと反省。
My son is sleeping as a kitty on a chair. I am very tired sometimes by two energetic kids who break and interrupt in my house. Yes, I am tired, but I also find they must be under stress to live in a culture/environment differed to Japan.

仕事がだんだんと忙しくなり地方出張がつづいています。悪路をずっといくのは疲れますが、おもしろいものも。これ朝飯ででてきたパン。「う●こ」にしかみえなーーい!! 朝から笑いました。この時の出張の動画はここで。
It's one of the busiest time for RESCAP project and I travel around Northern Province. It's very hectic, but I also encounter funny stuff, like this bread. It's shape likes "sh*t"! Funny. You can watch my trip video by this link.


出張から帰ってきてすぐに今度は最北端の町カプタに行きました。最北端ですので、コンゴと国境を接し、また広大なタンガニカ湖とも接しています。タンガニカ湖は青くてきれいだった。もっと魚が食べれるかと思ったら、あまり魚はみなかった。この時の出張の動画もつくりました。ここでみれます。
I have been to the Northern end of the Zambia, Kaputa district. This district shares its boarder with Congo Republic, and its huge Tanganika lake. It's very beautiful. I expected fishes there but I could not find them (just a few). Shame. You can watch the trip's movie by this link.

仕事関係のザンビア人の結婚式に招待されたので、ふーちゃんといってきました。2時に始まる予定が、始まったのは5時半。それでもだらだらと待ち続けるザンビア人。不思議なひとたち。結婚式の入場はダンス。そのときの動画はここでみれます。
I attended a wedding party of one of my colleagues, with my daughter. The ceremony was supposed to start at 14 hours, but it started at 17:30!! Well, the ceremony was started by dancing. You can watch the movie data by this.

プロジェクトは農村にある普及員の能力向上を目指していますが、その普及員たちの声をインタビューで聞くことにしました。野外で農民に研修している最中なので、その合間をぬって、野外でインタビュー。日頃、直接話を聞けないので、勉強になりました。このときの出張の記録映画はここ。
"In the field", I interviewed with a field extension officer of Zambian government. RESCAP project aims at improving the extension service in rural area. I asked the impacts of RESCAP for his extension works. 　You can watch the movie of the rural field activities.

ゆーちゃんが、がんばっているのは、鉄の棒をつかっての草刈りです。この棒で、草の根をたたいて、たたいて、草刈をします。いい運動になるので、やっていたら、ゆーちゃんもやりだしました。
A slasher is the tool for cutting grass on the ground. I do slashing by this local tool like this iron bar then my son "Yuki" also follows.

ルサカのアイリッシュ・パブ(風)でおやじのみ。1時間一本勝負。国籍・人種を超えた飲み会です。ちなみにフランス人とイギリス人。
A gentlemen's gathering in an "Irish-look-like" pub in Lusaka. Drink makes friendship beyond nationalities and races.

今日からザンビアではイースター休暇で、学校・幼稚園ともに休みです。最初はわんわん泣いていたゆーちゃんも、いまでは率先して幼稚園にいくようになりました。大きいリュックにおむつと弁当をいれて、「行ってきまーす!」
My son, Yuki, now gets familiar with going to nursery school. He used to be crying and crying in every morning, but no more! "Let's go to school!" (but now it is the Easter Holiday, Yuki.)


幼稚園には紙おむつをもっていくのですが、最初の頃は、ゆーちゃんのパンパースが勝手にほかの子につかわれて、なくなっていました。で、名前を書くことに。名前が高じて、最近はマンガに。趣味の世界に。
Yuki's nappy was used for other kids. As a prevention measures, my wife put Yuki's name on the nappies, then now she put even a cartoon of him.
